Weekly Update #2 -- 6.30.17

Week two of the technology update - Checking out the OnePlus 5, New Galaxy Lineup, New Surface Pro Lineup, and The Remix Mini

Phone(s)

This weeks hype is revolving around the new OnePlus 5.  The phone features a dual camera, and a price tag of $475 / $550 ish.  The Phone is the newest addition to the OnePlus family.  It runs on Oxygen OS which is one of the closest Operating Systems to Stock android, which is featured on the Google Pixel.  The next new phone (not as great) is the Samsung Galaxy Folder 2.  The phone is litterally a flip phone with a touch screen keyboard.  Not that exciting.  But more exciting is that Samsung will be releasing the Note 7 to the public soon under a different name, The Samsung Galaxy Note 7 FE(fandom edition).

Laptops

The Microsoft Surface has always caught my attention.  Recently, Microsoft released the new Microsoft Surface Pro, The Surface Laptop, and The Surface Book with performance base.  All of the laptops are similar yet different. The Surface Laptop is unlike any other surface,  It's keyboard is permanently attached.  It has (basically) all the same specs as the others.  The Surface Pro is the newest surface.  One might even call it the Pro 5.  The Surface Book with performance base is the second generation surface book.  The only changes are the faster speeds and the camera being in a different location.  

Gadgets-- Jide

The Company Jide has been around for a little while.  Not receiving much publicity, the company is not one that you have likely heard of.  I have been following the company on their journey since they first started out on kickstarter.  Some of their products are pretty amazing like the Remix Mini, a super small android computer; and their biggest achievement, Remix OS.  The system can go on any android phone and will allow it to connect to any monitor and essentially use it as a computer.
