Freedompop vs. RingPlus

Freedompop V.S. Ringplus

You've seen low cost plans from companies like Metro PCS, and Straight Talk, but you've never seen something this cheap!

There is a ton of different sub-carriers on different networks.  Each sub-carrier uses the network from one of the larger companies like T-Mobile, Sprint, Verizon, and AT&T.  Most people would think that the coverage would be bad. But the truth of the matter is, it is identical to the big carriers.

Sprint is the carrier that is home to the most sub-carriers.  You may have heard of Ting, Virgin, and many more.  However two of the best carriers on Sprint are RingPlus and Freedompop.  is famous for their 100% free service, and RingPlus is known for cheap service. Each carrier has strengths and weaknesses that will be explored

Pros and Cons

Ringplus has very low-cost and good plans. Freedompop is not nearly as good.  Freedompop uses VOIP(Voice over IP) which uses wifi to call and text.  Ringplus uses only cellular towers.  Overall if you are looking for a cheap plan for kids or a temporary plan for yourself Freedompop is the plan to go with.  However, if you are looking for a long-term plan  Ringplus offers reliable plans with good coverage.

UPDATE: RINGPLUS IS CLOSING AND ALL CUSTOMERS ARE BEING AUTOMATICALLY MIGRATED TO TING.
